A partition (8) is provided between the feeding device (1) and the channel (5) through which the liquid flows. The height of the partition (8) is such that liquid from the feeding device (1) can reach the liquid flow channel (5) only when the velocity of liquid flowing from the device (1) exceeds a certain minimum. Liquid flows from the feeding device through a nozzle (2) and most of it flows through an overflow pipe or bypass (7).
