1360610 Vibratory electro-plating apparatus WILLIAM BOULTON Ltd 25 Aug 1971 [29 Aug 1970] 41875/70 Heading C7B In the electro-plating of small parts immersed in a plating solution, the parts are subjected to a vibratory movement such as to produce orbital movement of the parts in vertical planes. As shown the plating chamber 7 has a spiral floor, U-shape in cross-section and rising along its length; the chamber being vibrated by vibrator unit 13 such that parts to be plated move along the spiral chamber from the lower to the higher end, and follow the orbital path indicated by reference 19. Electrical connection to the parts is provided by strip 20, or by studs (40), Fig. 6 (not shown), positioned on the floor of the chamber, and counter-electrodes 21 are suspended in the bath. Exit means are provided such that the parts may be recycled round the spiral chamber as required, and thereafter pass out of the cell. |
