<p>An auxiliary mobile table is fitted to fabric cutting presses of the type in which a stamping and garment section lifting tool is lowered to and raised from the layers of fabrics fed forward to the cutting table from the reel stand. The auxiliary table is moved forward with the layers of fabrics to a position above the cuting table and retracted from beneath them before the cutting tool descends. The auxiliary table is carried by two horizontal chains aligned parallel to each other and running on pinions on shafts close to the cutting table. One of the shafts is provided with a driving mechanism controlling its direction of rotation selectively so as to position the auxiliary above the cutting table or to retract it. The selective driving mechanism comprises additional pinions keyed on the horizontal chain shaft farther from the cutting table, from which two chains run to pinions on a shaft vertically below. A bar across one level of the pair of vertical chains is attached to the piston rod of a vertically acting jack, the motion of which is transmitted to the auxiliary table. Eliminates the time wasting operation of straightening out the layers of fabric which build up folds due to the unavoidable roughness of the cutting table, and of endeavouring to re-align them accurately.</p> |
