The lighter oils and hydrocarbons collect in the upper part of the decantation zone while the sludge is deposited on the bottom of the tank; ; A deflector prevents the sludge from reaching the outlet. The oils are collected in a transverse gutter which consists of a plastic tube kept in position by the elastic support mounted on the channel iron, which is welded to the tank sides. The transverse tube has a slit, through which the oils flow on their way to the outlet on the side of the tank. Device is simple and the height of the draw-off slit can be adjusted. The components of the gutter are all available commercially so the cost is low.</p> |
