1488547 Instrument casing handle RITE AUTOTRONICS CORP 24 Oct 1975 [10 Oct 1975] 43714/75 Heading A4G An instrument casing 15, Fig. 1, has an adjustable handle 24 comprising a gripping section 25 and an extension section 26 extending from one end of the section 25 and having a pair of bearing projections 28, 29, Figs. 7, 8, extending from its opposite sides. A pair of spaced walls 44, 45 supported by the casing each has a curved surface 44a, 45a respectively for receiving one side portion of a projection 28, 29. A pair of cover caps 70, 71 secures each projection 28, 29 to the casing at opposite sides of section 26, each cap having a curved surface portion for receiving the other side of the projection. A roller 60 supported by a spring wire 61 attached to the casing is arranged to engage in one of a number of curved detent surfaces 26b, 26c, 26d, Fig. 5, in the section 26 to hold the handle in a selected position relative to the casing. As described the projections 28, 29 have metal cylinders 30, 31 received in sleeves 40, 41 in the casing. The projections 28, 29 and cylinders 30, 31 have apertures through which leads 34, 35 passing through the centre of the handle are fed into the instrument casing. In its retracted position, Fig. 1, phantom lines, the handle is received in a recess in the back of the casing. |
