Two bridge superstructure parts are first erected transversely to the longitudinal axis of the finished bridge in each case on a pier and subsequently turned into their mutually flush end position in the longitudinal axis of the bridge and then interconnected. For turning, the bridge superstructure parts are supported on a circular path surrounding the pier. The device for implementing the method has a reinforced-concrete cylinder (4) which surrounds the bridge pier (3), is supported on the pier foundation (2) and is provided on its upper edge with a sliding coating (6). The bridge superstructure parts are supported, during their turning movement, on the reinforced-concrete cylinder, as are also the devices (11) for turning the bridge superstructure parts. <IMAGE>
