Guided torpedo launched from submarine - uses bathythermographic guidance for preventing discovery and improving hit probability

The torpedo launched from a submarine is continuously guided for improving the hit probability. The torpedo guiding arrangement also greatly improves the chances that the launching submarine and the torpedo itself cannot be readily located. The torpedo trajectory is influenced in the launching phase by the existing bathythermographic conditions. The torpedo is held in the initial launching phase on a trajectory in which the noise propagation anomalies have a minimum range and thus prevent early discovery. This torpedo can alternatively be held in the launching phase on the trajectory in which one part of trajectory ensures minimum opportunities for discovery or in the other part of the trajectory to ensure maximum target sensing range. The torpedo during the minimum discovery range has a high velocity and the torpedo runs at low speed during the maximum target sensing part of trajectory.
