434,666. Watersupply. ALTENKIRCH, E., 56, Bahnhofstrasse, Neuenhagen, near Berlin. March 6, 1934, No. 7102. Convention date, March 10, 1933. [Class 68 (i)] [See also Group XIII] The alteration of the water vapour content of air for obtaining a supply of water is effected by treating wood in a repeated cycle with air. In the form shown, a chamber with wood-filled compartments K and L, K facing west, L east, has a condenser M. In the morning there is an air flow from aperture L<4>, over the wood in L, through the condenser, over the wood in K, and out at K' or through a cooler N. In the afternoon the flow is reversed. After several cycles, the effect is that the air passes over hot, wet wood, then yields up the water so acquired in the condenser, and is further dried by cold, wet wood. |
