<p>Anti-inflammatory medicament for oral administration comprises a mixt. of oxyphenbutazone (I) and pancrease proteolytic enzymes (II) with a gastro-resistant coating. The presence of (IIe increases the activity of (I). The coating prevents deactivation of (II) and lessens attack by (I) on the gastric surfaces. In an example, cones weighing 0.1 g were prepd. from 5 x 109 Armour units of pancreas proteolytic enzyme, 3.2 kg lactose, 550 g gum arabic, 160 g talc, and 110 g Mg stearate. This was made gastro-resitant with a coating of cellulose acetophthalate. Separately, 7.5 kg oxyphenbutazone, 7 kg starch, 5 kg lactose, 1 kg cellulose, 350 g talc and 350 g magnesium stearate were mixed. Capsules were prepared containing a coated core and 0.212 g of the oxyphenbutazone mixture.</p> |
