The vertical take-off aircraft has a very light rotor (2) mounted with its axis vertical and driven through a carden joint (4) from an electric motor (5). The motor (5) is mounted in a tube (10) which is supported inside a duct (7) by an aileron (6). A generator (9) together with the fuel and batteries balance the weight of the passenger. Jets of compressed air directed on the rotor (2) incline it in the forward direction for forward flight which is also controlled by the angle of shutters (11). The carden joint allows the plane of the rotor to remain horizontal in adverse weather conditions so that the machine cannot turn upside down in flight.
