Laminate is composed of a perforated core and 2 outer laminae which are heat bonded together across the perforations of the core. The latter is a non-thermoplastics material whilst the outer laminae are of thermoplastics. Mfr. comrpises (a) perforating a non-thermoplastics lamina; (b) inserting it between 2 thermoplastics laminae; (c) bonding the outer laminae together across the perforations of the core. Step (a) may be carried out before or after step (b) or simultaneously with step (c). Used in mfr. of electrodes for electrolytic cells. The outer laminae form a web composed of fibres having a polyethylene terephthalate core enveloped in an 85/15 poly (ethylene terephthalate-co-isophthalate). The core may be a Pb-foil. The thermal bonding of the outer laminae (step c) may be by UV vibrations or by application of heat and pressure.
