The invention relates to a process for preparing isopropyl alcohol. According to the invention, the process consists in catalytically hydrogenating acetone, in the presence of a catalyst having a content of 22...26% nickel, promoted with 2.5% cobalt, at the most, on alumino-silica carrier, in vapour phase, at a pressure of 16...20 bar and a temperature of 120...190°C, at a hydrogen:acetone molar ratio of at least 16:1, a volume rate of maximum 125 m/ mof catalyst x h, the values being calculated at the reaction conditions. |
