<p>An instrument is used for the synchronous reading of information from a moving tape carrying data and control data interspersed with the date. A single reading head feeding a circuit effects a distinction between data and control information. There is a timing control unit, in the form of a circuit which measures the time interval between two successive control data pulses and transfers the information to a time control circuit (10 to 15) to generate a time control signal proportional to the measured interval. The circuit may contain a capacitor (9) which is charged by a constant current source (8) during the intervals between successive control data pulses. There is a second capacitor (11) which determines the duration of the time control signal for the currently read data; the voltage level of the first capacitor reached at the moment of reading a control data pulse is transmitted to the second capacitor for the determination of the time control for the reading of the next data signal.</p> |
