A laminate comprises a polyolefin substrate, said substrate having at least one surface uniformly covered with a homopolymer of acrylic or methacrylic acid or a graft copolymer thereof with a vinyl hydrocarbon, said copolymer having an acid number of at least 2À5, and a metal lamina bonded to the or each said surface. The polyolefin substrate is suitably polypropylene or polyethylene. The graft copolymer is preferably formed from propylene and acrylic acid. The bonding agent is suitably in particulate form and may be mixed with a polyolefin powder, e.g. polypropylene. Suitable metal laminµ are aluminium and steel.</p> |
