Vehicle fascia panel assembly - uses strips with interengaging tongues and wave spring which hooks into slots

A strip of material forming part of the fascia panel of an automobile has a number of equally spaced tonques (7) projecting above its upper edge. The strip is increased in thickness in the region (6) of the tongues and slots are formed between the main surface and the overhanging ledges (8) of the regions of increased thickness. The mating strip has a U-shaped cross-section and narrow tongues which fit in the gaps (10) between the wide tongues. A wave spring made of piano wire holds the two parts together. The trough of the wave fits under the ledges and the crest of the wave fits over hooks at the end of the tongues of the mating member.
