<p>Two circular discs (1) are fixed to an output shaft (2) running axially through their centres. An even number of masses (8) is held between them in a symmetrical arrangement round the perimeter. Each mass has a shaft (4) which runs through the discs and carries rollers (7) on its ends. The rollers run on profiled support rails (6, 5) adjacent to the lower part of the main circular discs (1). The support rails take the weight of the masses at this part of the circumference and thus unbalance the forces on the circular discs. The unbalanced forces then produce rotation of the discs with a resulting useful output.</p> |
