The aid is used to assist a disabled person into or out of a car and comprises a double beam (1) fixed (4, 5) to the roof rack (6, 7). Telescopic arms (2) are attached (18) to the mobile part (16) of a lifting jack (14). The lower end (15) of the jack is fixed to a lifting beam (10) passing through the open door. The other end (13) of this beam, on the other side, has a chain (11) attached to the roof rack (12). The disabled person, in their chair, is attached to a trolley (29, 30, 31) in the lifting arm and is moved in or out, after raising the arm with the jack.
