The water and waste solids processing machine has a number of vats in which the solids come together by gravity. Each vat has an outlet orifice in the bottom, the orifices discharging into branch passages each of which is closable by a blocking element and communicates with a collector passage. The latter discharges into a receiver tank for the mixtures from the different vats, each blocking device consisting of a valve. The valve pref. has a flexible tube which is radially deformable by fluid pressure to close its passage.
