The square-wave voltage generator (1) contains two transistors which are connected in series with the supply voltage source and are controlled in phase opposition. The series connection consists of parallel resonant circuit and second coil or parallel resonant circuit and series resonant circuit. It lies between the junction of the transistors and a pole of a two-pole voltage source or the zero point of a divided voltage source. The consumer for which the generator is used can be an electrically operated appliance including a heater which has a receiving coil coupled to the coil of the parallel resonant circuit to act as a transformer.
