Mosaic printer with symbol spacing control - limits size of space between individual groups of symbols in line

The mosaic printer enables the spacing between individual groups of letters in a line to be controlled. This is achieved with a control circuit having a gate switch (11) positioned before the input (40) of the column counter (12). The input signal (38) of the gate is connected to the output (45) for the spacing impulse (6) of the printer (1). A spacing unit (10) is interposed between this output and the gate input (39) of the gate switch. This unit contains a spacing counter (25) and spacing selection circuit and produces a locking signal for the gate switch.
