<p>An air-filter unit comprising an air filter placed inside a casing consisting of a main body and a cover joined together at a joining edge. An axial inlet pipe and a lateral outlet pipe are provided to produce the airflow through the filter. The lateral pipe is joined to the filter box through a widened section which arrangement enhances the air flow through the unit. As this arrangement makes production of the unit by injection moulding very difficult and costly the invention offers an alternative assembly which can be injection moulded. The filter box as described comprises a casing with a cover, an axial inlet at the opposite end to the cover and an outlet fixed laterally on the cover. The joining edge is slanted relative to the general axis of the volume within the casing. The outlet is sloped in the opposite direction to the joining edge and is joined to the cover through an enlargement. Due to the slope of the joining edge this enlargement does not prevent the injection moulding of the appts.</p> |
