INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM AND METHOD FOR RECORDING INFORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DVD-R type information recording medium having improved light resistance and durability without impairing recording/reproducing characteristics and a method for recording information. SOLUTION: The heat mode type recording medium comprises a recording layer having a combination of organic dye and organic oxidizer so that they become a specific potential difference, a combination of them so that they become a specific potential difference or a combination of a dye compound having a specific chemical structure and organic oxidizer having a predetermined reducing potential on a surface of a transparent disc-like board having a pregroove including a track pitch of 0.6 to 0.9 μm and formed thereon at a side provided with the pregroove. A laser beam having a wavelength of 600 to 700 nm is emitted to the medium to record information on the medium.
