The ketone peroxides used as oxidizing agents are obtained by the reaction of an appropriate ketone with H 2 O 2 or autoxidation of secondary alcohols. The following peroxides are prepared: methyl ethyl ketone peroxide; 4-methyl-2-pentanone peroxide; cyclopentanone peroxide; and methylphenyl ketone peroxide.
