<p>The system producing spur gears with rounded tooth flanks, particularly helical gears, grinds them on the spiral rolling principle by profile grinding worm tools from rough-milled blanks. The worm tools are trued and dressed by cutting tools after the rolling operation. The worm tool shaping tool also has rounded tooth flanks like the finished gear. The rough-milled blanks can be mounted on the main spindle, with the worm tool at right angles to it. Tool (1) and main (4) spindles are coupled together, there being an auxiliary spindle (5) parallel to the main one and movable to and from it, having two gears (7, 8) like the workpiece. The main spindle has a gear (6) like the workpiece at the headstock end, and a mounting for the workpiece (2) at the tailstock end. It is slightly rotated by the gear (8) at the tailstock end of the auxiliary spindle, and then secured either by the tailstock (10) or a mechanism inside the spindle.</p> |
