<p>The system positions a printing sleeve on a cylinder hub (7) whose diameter at one end is greater than that at the other. The sleeve (1) with an internal surface fitting against the hub, is moved onto the hub from the smaller-diameter end until the two touch and the sleeve has covered all gas outlets in the hub surface. Gas under pressure is then delivered inside the sleeve, causing it to expand radially, whereupon it can be slid to the predetermined working position on the hub. The sleeve can be made by covering a shell of fibre-reinforced plastics with crude elastomer material and vulcanising it in situ.</p> |
