<p>Anti-slip surfaces consist of ground glass with a sieve analysis of >=80 wt. % passing a 12 B.S. mesh sieve and is not >20 wt. % passing an 85 B.S. mesh sieve, distributed in a plastic, rubber or bitumen binder. The binder used is pref. an epoxy resin, an unsatd. polyester, polyurethane, PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene, natural or synthetic rubber, etc. The compsn. may also contain fibrous reinforcements such as glass fibres, asbestos, etc., and shrinkage reducing agents. Process uses e.g. ordinary soda glass and esp. ground scrap glass such as non-returnable bottles, glass in domestic refuse, etc.</p> |
