1434265 Synthetic resin compositions DYNA. MIT NOBEL AG 3 Dec 1973 [6 Dec 1972] 55850/73 Headings C3P and C3R A coating composition comprises (A) 50-99 parts of fluorine-containing polymer, (B) 1-50 parts of hydroxy ester resin, the total of A and B being 100 parts, (C) 0À1-10 parts of a crosslinking agent for (B), (D) 10-100 parts of an organic or inorganic pigment and/or a pigment extender or diluent, (E) a liquid phase in which the foregoing components are dissolved or dispersed. Preferably component (B) is a polyester and (C) is a urea resin an isocyanate or a triazine resin. In examples (A) is polyvinyl fluoride or polyvinylidene fluoride, (B) is derived from isophthalic acid, adipic acid, neopentylglycol and trimethylol propane or phthalic anhydride, adipic acid, 1,4-bis- (hydroxy methyl)cyclohexane and glycerin or an oil-free polyester with free hydroxyl groups condensed with silanols; (C) is hexamethoxy methyl melamine or benzoguanidine resin; (D) is titanium dioxide optionally with azo pigment red and microtalcum; (E) is selected from one or more of isophorone, propylene carbonate, butyl diglycol, n-butanol, ethyl glycol acetate, an aromatic hydrocarbon mixture, butyl diglycol acetate and t-butyrolactone. The compositions also contain nickel butyl hydroxybenzyl phosphonic acid ethylate as a stabilizer. |
