The metering and spreading equipment is partic. for use in the printing industry, has a housing with a chamber for the passage of a mass to be processed. Abore is connected to the passage, and in it a shaft (2) rotates, from which one or more segments have been removed. The housing (1) only partly encloses the shaft, and in the position where a metered amt. of the mass can be completely removed by a scraper, the segment face (4) of the shaft is flush with the housing edges. The scraper then delivers the mass in front of a rake (9), which spreads it over the surface concerned (15).
