The insulating cladding, in particular for a wall of an interior room, has, on its rear side, fastening ribs (30) running at a mutual distance from one another. Said ribs are designed in each case as a pair of legs (34, 36) which are arranged on the cladding surface (32) and are connected together at their free ends (38; 46) directed away from the cladding surface (32). The legs are arranged approximately perpendicularly to the plane of the cladding surface (32). Between the legs (34, 36), rabbets (42) are formed in the cladding surface (32). The cladding preferably comprises a flexible sheet in which the fastening ribs (30) and the rabbets (42) are formed by folding. When fastened on the wall, the cladding can thus be expanded transversely to its ribs (30) in order to achieve the desired covering length. <IMAGE>
