Position detector system for spindle control - has Hall generator and independently adjustable permanent magnet yokes

The control unit comprises a chuck assembly(1) which receives the end of the spindle whose angular displacement it is required to control. The chuck runs in a ball-bearing(5). In a recess in the generator housing is a base plate on which is mounted a hall generator(9). The chuck assembly spindle(4) is fitted with magnet support plates(22, 23, 24) formed from thin discs. The three discs have projections at the ends of which are permanent magnets(29, 30). The lugs are offset from each other at selected angles. The permanent magnets are at the same radius from the central spindle. The clamp fitting of the magnet supports is usch so that each may be adjusted without disturbing the others.
