The device has a closure cap (10), which spans a tubular branch, and a bush (7) arranged in the tubular branch (3). Mounted movably in the bush (7) is a piston (19) which is designed to allow it to be brought up against the closure cap (10) under the influence of the pressure (P) prevailing in the vessel (B). In the open position of the device, a driver (11) projecting from the bush-side inner-surface section (12) of the closure cap (10) engages in an aperture (13) in the bush end wall (14). When the vessel (B) is under pressure, the piston (19) is pushed towards the bush end wall (14) and the driver (11) is pushed out of the aperture (13), thereby preventing unintentional opening of the pressurised vessel. <IMAGE>
