PURPOSE:To measure fluorescence at high precision with obtaining high purity, high brightness fluorescent luminous flux, by entering excitation light converging in the photometric passage from the cylindrical side face of horizontal flow cell, and taking out the fluorescence through a small hole in the direction of photometric passage. CONSTITUTION:The specimen passage in a horizontal flow cell 10 starts from the lower part thereof, and runs beside a photometric passage 14 located in the center of concentric cylindrical form, and ends at a speciment outlet 11 located in the upper part. The appearance of the cell 10 is a horizontal cylinder, in which crosswise extending excitation luminous flux enters with converging towards the cylindrical axis. On the other hand, the luminous flux of fluorescence 4 having a similar circular section leaves from the horizontal photometric passage of the cell 10, and enters the fluorescence measuring optical system 2. The excitation measuring optical system 1 is designed to emit transverse luminous flux of the excitation light 3, and it is, for instance, a sidelong emission slit. Meanwhile, since the fluorescence measuring optical system 2 takes in the fluorescent luminous flux from nearly circular small light source, there is no special limitation to the disposing direction. |
