Peltier element auxiliaries on gas-cooled welding torch - prolong electrode life by reducing temp. during continuous running

A gas-cooled welding torch comprises a housing in which an electrode is secured. A channel in the housing encloses the electrode which extends through it and projects a short distance from it. A nozzle encloses almost all the electrode projecting outside the housing. In and on the housing there are means of guiding a flow of a gas through the channel and the nozzle around the electrode, and of laying on a power supply to the electrode. Peltier elements fixed on the housing act as a heat pump, and there are means on the housing also for supplying a feeder current to the Peltier elements. Each Peltier element is fixed to a surface of the housing and on the outer surface there are cooling ribs fitted. The Peltier elements are wired in series and charge is fed to them by the means which feed power to the electrode.
