Heat sink for transformer type converters with rectifiers - surrounds individual coils of three-phase converter with numerous force ventilated channels

The transformer type converters with rectifiers are used for rapid charging of accumulator batteries. The convertor coils are wound on corresponding cores. The heat sink has a number of channels (18-25) which surround the windings (3, 4) of e.g. a three-phase convertor and/or pass through these windings. The heat sink channels are force ventilated. Preferably the heat sink, or its parts form simultaneously a carrier for the windings. The force ventilation is provided by high speed ventilators at both channel ends, one being of suction type and the other of pressure type. Their speed may be controlled in accordance with the converter operating temperature.
