PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte for a battery containing a fluoro phosphoric ester compound capable of reducing the initial battery resistance, and to provide a lithium secondary battery.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte for a battery contains a fluoro phosphoric ester compound represented by the following general formula (1). In general formula (1), n represents an integer of 1 or 2. R represents, independently, a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group of 1C-12C, where at least one group represented by R has a carbon-carbon unsaturated linkage, and the unsaturated linkage represents a triple linkage or a terminal double bond.
