Production of venetian blind doors, windows or window shutters, involves inserting the blind slats into frame timbers with cutouts to accommodate the pointed slat ends. At least one corner of the end part of each slat is trimmed. Each end piece is subjected to pressure at right angles to the slat flat surface, the end parts being shaped into a wedge form. - Each shaped end part, is moistened with fluid immediately before being inserted into its frame timber cutout. Both ends of each slat may be trimmed and pressed, successively or simultaneously. This enables the slat ends to be inserted easily with a small degree of play, while a firm seat is ensured.
