NEW MATERIAL:Hyaluronic acid-decomposing enzyme, hyaluronidase BMP-8231, prepared by culturing Streptomyces koganeiensis No.8231, having the following characteristics: activity, endo-beta-hexosaminidase; substrate specificity, decomposes hyaluronic acid, and inactive to chondroitin sulfate A and C, and chondroitin. USE:Agent for the acceleration of absorption and diffusion of medicine administered by subcutaneous injection. Laboratory reagent. PROCESS:Hyaluronidase BMP-8231-producing bacteria belonging to Streptomyces genus, e.g. Streptomyces koganeiensis No.8231 (FERM-P No.4480) are cultured in a nutrient medium at about 30 deg.C for 50-100 hours, and the objective enzyme is separated from the filtrate of the medium by vacuum concentration, dialysis, ammonium sulfate fractionation, ion exchange chromatography, etc. |
