The device is used for attaching an element, for example a lug (2), to the end of a pipe (1). Two expanding discs (5a, 5b), a supporting disc (6), a spacer sleeve (7) and shim washers (8a, 8b) as well as a securing ring (9) are arranged on a setbolt (3) having a nut (4). When the bolt (3) is tightened, the expanding discs (5a, 5b) are thus pressed flat. They are jammed against the inner wall of the pipe and thus connect the pipe to the lug. As a result of this attachment, welding work is superfluous and coatings, for example zinc coatings, on the outside of the pipe (1) are not damaged. <IMAGE>
