The basic part of the plastic housing (20) has a flange, with bolt holes for fixing a clip-on cover (56) on the outside to protect the shaft end, and a recess on the inside (62) of spherical form to receive the bearing outer shell. The second part of the housing (60) clips into the first and traps the bearing. The two parts are fused together by ultrasonic vibrations, thermal fusion or chemical fusion depending on material. The housing is bolted to the support bracket (34) and the through hole/rotating shaft joint is sealed with an annular rubber seal (54). The bearing is then sealed from ingress of foreign material.
