The infinitely variable adjusting device serves esp. for determining the length of an insulating switching rod between the drive and the movable contact of an SF6 gas-insulated, enclosed circuit breaker. A tubular cylindrical sleeve with inner thread at each end is used, in which the rods are screwed in. They are moved by rotation of the sleeve. The two rods are prevented from relative rotation w.r.t. each other by a shaped element e.g. with projections engaging bores.
