The wiper blade assembly is linked to the end of the wiper arm (14) by a moulded plastics coupling element with a vertical pivot axis formed by a stud insert (42). The blade assembly is pivoted about the stud using a control arm (18). Tilt control for the blade assembly is about a horizontal axis using a second stud axis (34). The second stud is located in side slots (38) moulded into the coupling element.
