Prefabricated stressed girder mfr. involves shaped units with grooves running close together, with stress wires inserted, and inlaid U-shaped stirrup pieces with ends gripping below the outermost wires. These are stressed, and the grooves are filled with concrete. The stirrup pieces have extensions (10) on the end parts (9) passing under the stress wires (5). These are supported on the stirrup piece at an interval (a) from the wire's position on the stirrup piece, the U-shaped part being pressed onto tht stem between the grooves. The end parts may be U or V-shaped with extensions supported on the shaped unit.
