The pump for aerating a body of water, is driven by an electric motor, and is supported by a float (a) on top of the water. The pump itself consists of a vertical tube (n) with blades (e) at the bottom which scoop up the water and discharge it through curved outlets (o) at the top. The float is ring shaped, and fits around the stator (h) of the motor, and the rotor (k) of the motor is inside it, with the tube passing vertically through its centre.
