ANTIBIOTIC YY14556 OR ITS ACID ADDUCT AND THEIR PREPARATION

NEW MATERIAL:An antibiotic Y-14556 of the formula and its acid adducts. USE:Antibacterial and antitumoregenic agent; especially they show excellent level of antibacterial effect against gram-positive and -negative bacteria, inhibit the propagation of Yoshida sarcoma cells and prolong lives of mouse leukemia L-1210. PREPARATION:A new mold belonging to Pseudmonas (FERM-No. 4595) is aerobically cultured in a usual medium at a pH near 7 and a temperture near 25 deg.C. Then, the culture mixture or its supernatant is treated with an adsorbent as Amberlite XAKO2 under neutral or weak acidic conditions and the adsorbate is purified with water and an aqueous solvent as methanol to give the objective compound of the formula.
