<p>Rotary motion from a driving ring (2), is transmitted to fan blades (24) through flexible packing (21) and then through a flexible ring (22) between which the blades (24) are sandwiched. Engine vibrations are dampened through the shaft (6) which runs in ball bearings (5, 13). Vibration is transmitted from the shaft via a spring (10) to the bush (11) and then to a flexible, hollow, annular ring (27) filled with compressed air (26) thrugh a valve (28). A cup shaped cover (25) is attached to the end of the shaft, and holds the assembly together. The pulsating action of the hollow ring absorbs vibration.</p> |
