The safety fitting prevents animals from being injured by the action of a harvester or mower. It comprises an extension to the cutting blades which is bolted on to extend forwards horizontally. The distal ends of the extension are bent up vertically or obliquely to form a blunt ended array of guard prongs. The horizontal section of each prong is approx. 30 cms. The rigidity of the array may be increased by thickening the angled section or by using additional bracing.
