The fine adjustment gives stepless precision control of a fluid under pressure in a valve containing a control slide and mounted between a pump and a consumer unit. The valve (2) has a pilot control chamber (22), whose inlet (26) leads via a pilot control pipe (Z) into the pressure equalisation chamber (11) of a pilot-controlled pressure or flow valve (3) connected to the pipe (4) between pump and valve (2). The pilot chamber outlet leads to the fluid storage vessel (15). The control slide (23) of the valve (2) has at the pilot chamber sections (24, 25) of increasingly smaller dia., forming a chamber widening towards the inlet (26) of the pilot-control pipe (Z).
