PURPOSE:To obtain the title compounds which are useful as dyes or their intermediates, in one process, by the reaction of 1,4-dihydroxy-anthraquinone with primary alkylamines in the presence of a specific metal compound. CONSTITUTION:1,4-Dihydroxy-2-alkylaminouathraquinones of formula II are obtained by reacting 1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinone of formula I with primary alkylamines of formula R-NH2 (R is alkyl) is an organic solvent in the presence of a chloride on niteate of copper or cobalt (e.g. cupric chloride, cobatous chloride, copper nitrate, etc.). Amino group can be introduced directly. The reaction solvent is methanol, n-butanol. etc. |
