Electrodes 1, 7 for electrical resistance welding have contact parts 4 made of a material which is the same as, or is an alloy including the material of, non-ferrous coatings 5 on metal parts 6 to be welded together. This arrangement reduces the likelihood of the electrodes 1, 7 becoming adhered to the metal parts 6 during welding. The electrodes may be solid, or may have coatings 3 applied, e.g., galvanically or by spraying, pouring or plating. Example electrodes are of copper with zinc or aluminium coatings. <IMAGE> |
