Road surface stripping machine - uses tool fixed to bucket of self-propelled excavator moved in direction of required cut

The system cuts out road-surfacing material, using a cutting tool (16) fixed to the bucket of a self-propelled mechanical excavator. The excavator is moved in the direction in which the cut is to be made and the bucket is held in a position such that the tool is drawn through the material. The tool can be used on a back-hoe-type excavator with the bucket being held parallel to the material while making the cut. Its blade can be inclined to the vertical.
